Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains what information CricAura ("CricAura", "we", "us") collects when you use the CricAura Android app and the website and web app at cricaura.xyz (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email CricAuraApp@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address and/or mobile number, and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication system).
Profile information you choose to add. Profile photo, location, date of birth, gender, playing role, and batting and bowling style.
Cricket data. Teams, squads, matches, tournaments, auctions, ball-by-ball scoring, commentary, awards and the statistics and Aura Points calculated from them. This includes the names of players added to teams and matches by team or match organisers, who may add a player by name and mobile number before that player has an account.
Live streaming. When you go live, the camera video and microphone audio from your device are sent to YouTube (via our servers when you choose server streaming). If you connect your own YouTube channel, we store the access authorisation Google gives us so we can create broadcasts on your behalf; you can revoke it at any time in your Google account settings.
Payments. Paid registrations (for example single-wicket events) are processed by our payment partner Cashfree. We receive the payment status and reference, not your card or bank details.
Device permissions. The app asks for camera and microphone access only for live streaming and barcode scanning, and for notification permission to tell you about match invites, scoring handovers and similar events. You can turn these off in your device settings.
Technical data. Our servers keep standard logs (such as IP address, request time and error details) to keep the Service running and secure. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
2. What is public
CricAura is a sports platform, and cricket records are meant to be shared. Match scorecards, tournament fixtures and results, team pages and player pages (player name, playing role, batting and bowling style, statistics and match history) can be viewed by anyone with the link, and are published on cricaura.xyz and may appear in search engines such as Google and Bing. Your email address, mobile number, date of birth and location are never shown on these public pages.
Live streams are public on YouTube unless a private stream option is used.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: scoring, stats, tournaments, auctions, live streaming and notifications.
- To let other people find and add you to teams and matches, for example by mobile number or player code.
- To send service emails such as sign-in, verification and password reset messages.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To respond to your support requests.
We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run CricAura, under their own security and privacy obligations:
- Oracle Cloud (hosting of our servers and database, in India).
- Google / YouTube (live stream delivery, and your YouTube channel if you connect it).
- Brevo (delivery of sign-in and account emails).
- Cashfree (payment processing for paid registrations).
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep your account information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by email; see how to delete your account. Deletion takes effect 30 days after you confirm, and you can cancel it by signing in during that time. After 30 days we erase your login and profile details. Scorecards are shared records of matches other people played in, so ball-by-ball records are kept, with your name in them shortened to your initials (for example "HS(Deleted)") and your photo and contact details removed.
Encrypted backups are kept for a limited period and then overwritten.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and backups are encrypted. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
7. Children
CricAura is used by cricketers of all ages. Players under 18 should use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, and organisers adding young players should have that consent. A parent or guardian can ask us to remove a child's information at any time by emailing us.
8. Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your profile in the app, delete your account in the app, revoke device permissions and YouTube access, and request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal information by emailing CricAuraApp@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
